The big advantage is what isn't on your head. No band, no cups colliding with your stock or your helmet, no sweating ears on a warm day. The electronics that normally live in a cup are packed into the bud itself.
That has a price, literally: this is the most expensive model in the range. And you give up some comfort on long days, because in-ear doesn't suit everyone. In doubt, start with an M31 and see whether the cups actually get in your way.
